Supporting young professionals

Metro are proud to sponsor the next BIFA Young Forwarder Network meeting in the Midlands. On 08.01.20 @ The Botanist, 14-16 Temple Street, Birmingham

Continuous learning and professional development is inherent in Metro’s ‘contract’ with every member of its team, which is why supporting BIFA’s Young Forwarder Network is a natural step.

BIFA, the British International Freight Association, is the industry’s trade association providing representation and training, to raise the profile and professionalism of the forwarding sector.

The Young Forwarder Network comprises several regional networking groups, which provide opportunities for members to network with their peers, learn from industry professionals and boost their continuous professional development.

The YFN mission is to:
• boost industry knowledge
• support personal network development
• share skills and experiences from industry professionals
• provide exclusive opportunities to visit places of industry interest
• promote the logistics and forwarding sector to the next generation

The next Young Forwarder Network meeting – “What customers really want” – will consider what customers often really want when meeting someone from our industry.

Wednesday 8th January 2020 at 15:30 PM; The Botanist, 14-16 Temple Street, Birmingham. B2 5BG

Colin Smith is Training & Career Development Manager at Metro and one of the governors of the Midlands Regional Group. “This is key to everyone new to freight forwarding. Putting yourself in the shoes of the customer before you actually meet them will give you an advantage right from the get-go. It will also give the customer added confidence that you will be the person they want to move their freight because you understand their business.”

There are places still available for the event at The Botanist in Central Birmingham but they are going fast.
