New Kuwait system for clearance certificates

The Public Authority for Industry of the State of Kuwait (PAI) has introduced a new online system for Importers to obtain a Clearance Certificate based on a valid Technical Inspection Report (TIR)

All consignments of imported ‘Regulated Products’ are subject to conformity assurance procedures.

‘Regulated Products’ that are exported to Kuwait’ already require a Technical Inspection Report (TIR) to clear customs.

“Metro have regular overland, sea freight and air services across the Middle East, including our dedicated Sea/Air hub in Dubai”

Starting from 1st May 2020, PAI has introduced a new online system for Importers to obtain a Clearance Certificate based on a valid TIR. This Clearance Certificate is issued by PAI and should be requested by the Importer by registering their entity through this link: https://ksm.pai.gov.kw/en/pages/default.aspx

Upon registration and submission of online request for the Clearance Certificate, verification is carried out by PAI. The Importer is required to pay the mandated fees after PAI’s successful verification to generate the Clearance Certificate. Once the Clearance Certificate is generated, the Kuwaiti Customs are automatically notified for the final release of the shipment.

The User Guides for registering Importer’s entity on PAI’s new online system and requesting for a Clearance Certificate can also be accessed through the link: https://ksm.pai.gov.kw/sites/cm/en/Pages/Default.aspx
