Metro's Project Cargo Division incorporates charter and out-of-gauge cargo, handling projects for global manufacturers. 

Working with Fracht, our global project partners, we understand the manufacturer's business and recognise the challenges they will face before, during and after transport needs have been completed. 

Metro’s dedicated staff travel the world overseeing these projects, meeting face-to-face with the entire supply chain to ensure smooth customs clearance.  As a result, the customer can be assured their project cargo is in safe hands.  

Metro negotiates direct with shipping lines, airlines, customs authorities, ports and airports to ensure that landing rights, royalties, clearance and delivery can be achieved in a cost effective and efficient manner.

Some of our project contracts run into many millions of pounds, without this level of control costs would rapidly escalate.

When handling large project cargo you need the experience that the Metro Project Team brings to the negotiation and movement of your valuable cargo.  

Projects vary from small building projects to complete industrial complexes requiring the co-ordination of shipments from several countries through to delivery on site.

Such shipments require many months of intensive planning with the main contractor. Planned delivery of certain strategic items is ensured on time and a schedule is drawn up and agreed upon to ensure all parties are fully aware of time sensitive deliveries.

Status reports via MVT (Metro Visibilty Tracking) are available to the main contractor and any other interested parties. This ensures current and forthcoming shipments are visible 24 / 7.

We issue strict deadlines to sub-contractors and personally oversee the process every step of the way to ensure that they adhere to these deadlines.

Subject to receipt of exact cargo requirements and shipping specifications we can give written quotations in advance. This can be an essential piece of information for a project manager looking to oversee every aspect of their project's overall budget.

Co-ordination and flow of relevant, accurate information are the two most vital factors key to ensuring the smooth running and eventual success of any project – large or small.
